This album was recorded with Ableton Live 8 on my Macbook Pro. I also used EastWest Studio's Goliath Sample Pack, which means I was able to control a large library of instruments with my MIDI controller keyboard. In other words, I was able to play the brass section on "Hearts," for example, as a keyboard part. I was able to do this with many other instrument and drum sounds throughout the album, which gave me a huge scope of compositional freedom.

I used samples throughout the album that were taken from books, audio lectures, and films that I found particularly inspiring. Samples and passages in the album were taken from the following sources:
